aaronwill: I'm really sorry for you

@johnyadollahi:

Well first let me thank you for your gracious thoughts, but I respectfully submit that you argue from a false premiss.  Micro evolution observes adaptation and changes within a species…This is proof enough of the glory of God; how within a species there can be changes to help it adapt or survive, but there in 0 scientific evidence of macro evolution which tries to teach change from one species to another  (monkeys to men)

I don’t understand how you can say evolution doesn’t try to explain origin…This is exactly what Darwin tried to do and said he went mad in doing so.  How can you do an effective study of anything without beginning with origin.  I find it utterly absurd and illogical to say everything came from nothing, life can not come from non life…darkness can not produce light.  As one great scholar said, “random chance is a logical absurdity and a scientific impossibility.”

Furthermore, your mention of the prison population and divorce rate have nothing to do with your argument.  All that proves is what the Bible says of the human heart is true, “The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jer 17:9)”

Yes you are right about the stats…the divorce rate in the Church is equal to that of the world, which means many people are claiming to be Christians that are not…or those that are, are disobedient.  But the Bible speaks of this as well…that in the last days many people who claim to follow the truth…will turn from it or rearrange it.

Also, you use words like “good”, “beautiful”, and “process”, but I don’t believe your world view has any basis for using these words.  If there is no God, what is the definition good…anybodies guess?  To the child molester it is one thing, to the violent it is another…who can say what is good, or beautiful…when there is no foundation for it.  Process speaks of systematic organized, intelligent, purposeful, but evolution can not use these words and remain consistent with the theory.

I would love for you read Psalms 19 and 119 and reconsider…

Okay. So through God’s glory and infinite insight as the divine creator of all living things, couldn’t he have just made the species already perfectly adapted from the get-go? Why would God create a species only to give himself more work in the future to keep it alive? Maybe he didn’t want to get bored. Also, why do we poop? God should have known that’s pretty gross and completely avoided it altogether.

Macroevolution is just the total impact of microevolution on a given species. Change something enough and it becomes something else.

Darwin’s work was entitled On The Origin of Species, as in speciation, as in microevolution. Not all scientific studies have initial origin. They have starting points, but that starting point can be completely contextual and arbitrary by the standard you are setting.

No single person who understands the theory of evolution claims that something came from nothing. And if they do, then they don’t. Evolution makes NO mention of creation.

Also, who’s that great scholar?

To your point on prison population and divorce rate, well, beggin’ the question, real hard on that one.

Divorce rates of avowed atheists are, again as of 2007, below 32%. We straight out deny God. We’re still able to have successful marriages, 100% God-free. I feel sorry for those False Christians you mention. Gotta be tough lying to your spouse and your God.

Words are subjective - beauty to you is God’s incredible attention to detail in our creation. Beauty to me is sexual reproduction resulting in two sets of alleles coming together in microscopic embrace, sharing literal genetic bytes of parents to create some amazing creature that begins as one cell and develops into a fetus, and ultimately a human. Also, flowers. They’re beautiful. But, if you want it in terms of evolutionary theory, I could set up this hypothetical: There are two tribes. One tribe hunts and gathers, they depend upon one another for safety, shelter, food, and companionship. They, therefore can have more children which will grow up in this same society. They will thrive.

Tribe two is full of liars, thieves, rapists, and scoundrels. When someone makes the hunt, instead of sharing his kill, he hordes it. He is promptly murdered and robbed by others. They start to kill one another off. Babies don’t stand a chance of survival because, hell, that babies’ momma’s husband killed my brother, so I’ll kill that little bastard.

Thus, the evolution of morality. The civilized tribe succeeds, and is, by all measures, GOOD. The unsavoury tribe falls due to avarice, greed, rage, jealousy, murder, and rape. All categorically BAD things. Note: God is not a part of any of this.

I don’t want to read the bible again. I already know how it ends.
